A display panel was supported by two PVC pipes, each feeding into the main electronics box. Since most of the electronics boards were contained inside the display case, various signal wires and power wires were fed through the PVC pipes into the electronics box to prevent exposure to the user.
The display panel provides various means of visual feedback to alert the user to their current status. A large seven segment display on the left of the display indicates the morale status from 0àA (in hexadecimal) and displays a negative morale using the ‘dot’ in the bottom right corner. If the morale status reaches -10 (-A), an orange mutiny alert lamp is activated. Upon reaching a ‘Not Paired’ state, a yellow LED is lit to indicate this to the user. The seven segment display on the right of the display panel is used to show the number of the TOWRP under control during a ‘Paired’ state, and both seven segment displays show the number of a marauding TOWRP when in the ‘Not Paired’ state. The team selection is accomplished by a switch at the center of the display, with a corresponding LED lit depending on the selection.
