In keeping with the theme of an 1800’s paddle wheel boat, we incorporated a number of different sensors that the user was required to interact with to maintain, assert, and lose control over a particular TOWRP. For instance, upon seeing that a mutiny was under way, the user was required to ring a bell within 3 seconds to suppress the mutiny. A microphone was placed underneath the bell. If the user decided they wanted to control another marauding TOWRP, they could jettison the crew by ‘throwing’’ the life-ring. A bump sensor was used to sense the user had removed the life-ring from its hook. The assertion of command and free digital action was fulfilled by pushing a button on the support structure platform. Also on this platform was a steam pipe assembly with two speakers placed inside. Upon acquiring control of TOWRP #5, these speakers played ‘Mississippi Queen’.
